Mozambique August 2024

Two RUHS Emergency Medicine residents spent one month in Maputo, Mozambique, working alongside the local emergency medicine residency program. They participated in patient resuscitations and procedures while providing daily lectures and bedside teaching to resident physicians. The team was joined by a U.S. ultrasound fellow, who spent a week teaching point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to Mozambican EM residents, as well as two RUHS nurses who contributed to clinical care and education efforts. Together, the team helped support emergency medicine training and strengthen international collaboration in healthcare.
