Suture and Ultrasound Workshop
Our combined Suturing and Ultrasound Workshop offers a hands-on, high-yield experience designed to build practical skills essential for all emergency departments. Participants will develop and hone core suturing techniques while also gaining experience with point-of-care ultrasound.
SonoWAR
Join us at Joshua Tree National Park for SonoWAR, a unique event merging ultrasound and wilderness medicine. This half-day relay race (on the 4/15) provides a hands-on learning experience for emergency medicine residents, bringing together practical skills and a spirit of competition. Come down the night before 4/14 for a camping adventure in Joshua Tree!

SAEM Western Regional Meeting
The 2026 SAEM Western Regional Meeting will be held March 13-14, 2026, at Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California. This meeting is a great opportunity for emergency medicine (EM) faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students to present research, educational innovations, and case reports; engage in interactive workshops and simulation sessions; and connect with peers and academic leaders from across the Western region.
This year's theme, "Innovations in Teaching," will feature plenary sessions led by regional residency programs showcasing creative and effective educational strategies.

In-Service Training Exam
ITE (In-Service Training Examination) is a 2-day examination series (250 total questions) designed to assess emergency medicine residents foundational knowledge base in comparison to their year-matched training levels. This is a 1-day exam, however due to class size, there is an anticipated split among 2 days. Residents, you are excused from all rotation obligations during those effective dates. Timing to return to service will be announced thereafter.
